This Privacy Policy explains how CareRank handles personal information when you visit carerank.co.uk, contact us, request a free growth audit, subscribe to our newsletter or discuss our services. It covers this website and these interactions, not how a client’s own website handles information. Reading or using this website is not, by itself, consent to marketing.
1. Who we are
CareRank is the business responsible for deciding how information received through this website is used. For privacy enquiries or requests about your information, contact info@carerank.co.uk or +44 7478 081505.
2. Information we collect
Contact and project enquiries: your name, email address, WhatsApp number, any optional telephone number, business name, website address, selected services and the message you provide. Submitting the contact form sends this information to CareRank and stores it in our enquiry records; it is not merely a draft held in your browser.
Free growth audit requests: your name, email address, business name, website address, WhatsApp number and any optional telephone number. We store your request so our team can review it and contact you about the audit.
Newsletter subscriptions: your email address and subscription record. We also receive the information you choose to send when contacting us by email, telephone or WhatsApp.
Website usage and technical information: our internal page-view system records the page path and title, referring page, browser user-agent, language, screen dimensions, device category and a randomly generated session identifier. Hosting and delivery providers may process IP addresses, request details and security logs when serving the website.
Please do not send patient records, treatment histories, financial credentials or other sensitive personal information through our public forms. Only share information about other people if you are authorised to do so.
3. How we use information and our legal bases
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, the legal basis depends on the purpose:
Enquiries, audits and project discussions: to respond, prepare proposals and take steps at your request before entering a contract, or perform an agreed contract. Where those grounds do not apply, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and managing customer relationships.
Newsletter emails: consent given when you subscribe. A contact or audit request does not automatically subscribe you to the newsletter. Request confirmations and replies to your enquiry are separate from promotional emails.
Website operation, enquiry administration and security: our legitimate interests in operating the website, managing requests, preventing abuse and protecting our services. Public forms use hidden anti-spam fields and submission-timing checks.
Internal website measurement: our legitimate interest in understanding which pages visitors use and improving the website. The current measurement system operates independently of the cookie banner’s analytics and marketing choices; those choices do not currently switch it off. For any storage or access requiring consent under applicable cookie rules, a legitimate-interest basis does not replace that requirement.
Legal and accounting requirements: compliance with applicable legal obligations, including responding to valid legal requests and maintaining records where required. We do not use these public forms to make automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you.
4. Newsletter and marketing choices
Newsletter signup stores your email address and requests a welcome email. We use your subscription to send CareRank news and growth-related communications.
You can withdraw your newsletter consent at any time by emailing info@carerank.co.uk with “Unsubscribe” and the address you subscribed with, or by replying to an email to request removal. The website does not currently provide an automated unsubscribe page. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. We may retain a minimal opt-out record to avoid sending further marketing.
5. Cookies, browser storage and analytics
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar browser technologies but are not themselves cookies. This website uses browser storage for the following purposes:
Cookie choices: carerank_cookie_consent in local storage records your necessary, analytics and marketing selections. It remains until you remove it or clear this site’s browser data. The banner does not itself load advertising or analytics scripts.
Display preference: the theme local-storage value may remember a light or dark display preference where the theme control is used.
Page-view session: pv_session in session storage holds a random identifier used to group page views during a browser session. Session storage normally ends when its tab or window session ends.
Restricted staff access: administrator sign-in uses session storage for authentication and access-role information. Internal dashboard features may also store interface preferences. Ordinary visitors do not need an administrator account.
Google Analytics 4: when you accept analytics cookies in the banner, the website loads Google Analytics 4 (scripts from googletagmanager.com and google-analytics.com) to measure page views and general site usage. If you choose “Necessary only” or leave analytics off, the Google Analytics script is not loaded. Our own page-view recording remains active regardless of the banner’s saved choices. Google’s use of information from Google Analytics is described in Google’s Privacy & Terms.
You can remove saved choices and other stored information through your browser’s settings for this site. Removing the saved cookie-choice value makes the banner appear again on a subsequent visit. Blocking cookies or browser storage can affect preferences and administrator sign-in. Clearing browser storage does not delete information already submitted to CareRank or page-view records already received.
6. Who receives information
Authorised CareRank team members use enquiry, audit and subscription records to carry out the purposes described above. Our website uses Lovable Cloud for application hosting and data services, and Resend for email delivery, including enquiry notifications, audit confirmations and newsletter emails. These services receive the information needed to provide their functions.
Hosting, content-delivery and font providers receive technical request information when your browser loads website resources. Fonts may be requested from Google Fonts. Google, WhatsApp, social-network and other external links take you to independently operated services whose own privacy policies apply. Clicking a WhatsApp link opens WhatsApp; this website does not automatically send your form entries to it.
We may disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. We do not sell personal information collected through our public forms.
7. International processing
Some technology providers operate internationally, so website or email information may be processed outside the United Kingdom. Where a restricted transfer occurs, applicable UK data-protection requirements apply, including an appropriate adequacy decision or contractual transfer safeguards where required. You can contact us for information about the provider arrangements and safeguards relevant to your information.
8. How long information is kept
Retention depends on the purpose and the information involved. Enquiry and audit records are kept while responding to your request and managing related follow-up. If an enquiry becomes a client project, relevant information may become part of the project and business records. Some records must be retained to meet legal, accounting or dispute-resolution requirements.
Newsletter records are used while your subscription remains active; an opt-out record may be retained after you unsubscribe. Website usage and security records are used for website management and protection. The website does not currently apply a fixed automatic deletion period to every enquiry, subscription or page-view record. Contact us to ask about the retention of your particular information or to request deletion where your rights apply.
9. Protecting your information
We use access controls and encrypted HTTPS connections to help protect information sent through the website. Access to enquiry and subscription records is intended for authorised staff. No website, email system or storage service can guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive records through public forms or ordinary email.
10. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of processing or a portable copy of information you supplied. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and may object to direct marketing at any time. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it.
Send requests to info@carerank.co.uk. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity before releasing or changing personal information. Requests are normally handled within one month; where the law permits an extension, we will explain why. These rights are not absolute and some information may need to be retained for legal reasons.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You do not have to contact us before approaching the ICO.
11. Children
This website and its business services are not directed at children. Please contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information so that we can review and address it.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our services or data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. If an update requires a new consent, publishing a revised policy alone does not replace obtaining that consent.
For questions, rights requests or newsletter removal, email info@carerank.co.uk or call +44 7478 081505.
